PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Slushy Box ATL is a unique social enterprise—combining workforce training with a vibrant, community-focused food truck specializing in flavorful slushies and freeze-dried candies. The truck serves as a mobile job site, mentorship space, and platform for youth to engage with the public positively and meaningfully.
Key Program Elements Include:
- Hands-On Job Skills Training: Participants gain experience in customer service, food handling, inventory management, and business operations.
- One-on-One Mentorship: Youth are paired with mentors who provide consistent support, accountability, and life guidance.
- Life Skills Workshops: Sessions focus on resume writing, financial literacy, conflict resolution, and professional communication.
- Entrepreneurial Exposure: Youth are introduced to small business fundamentals and encouraged to explore their business ideas.
- Community Engagement: The food truck becomes a community hub, helping build trust and belonging between youth and their neighborhoods.
Meet our Team of Professionals
Founder and Program Director
Sandy Moore, is committed to empowering at-risk Youth through employment initiatives that provide mentorship, skill development, and career pathways. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Troy University and a Master’s in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University. As an Army Combat Disabled Veteran, former City of Atlanta Police Officer, and Atlanta Public Schools Police Officer, Sandy has a life passion of community service. Through partnerships with community organizations, she connects young individuals with locally based wraparound services that support their personal and professional growth, ensuring long-term success. She also advocates for criminal justice reform and Veterans' rights as an active member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Leadership & Development Coach
Michael Lawson, Jr. is a Mental Health professional and entrepreneur dedicated to empowering Youth through education, mentorship, and emotional wellness initiatives. A Los Angeles native, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Morehouse College and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. With a passion for fostering resilience and leadership, Michael has worked with educators and community leaders to develop programs that support young individuals in personal growth, life skills, and mental health awareness, creating pathways for long-term success.
