Scope

Slushy Box ATL operates in the City of Atlanta, Georgia, and respects the privacy of its customers, website visitors, youth-program applicants, participants, and families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with our food-truck business and youth workforce development activities.

This policy covers information collected through our website, inquiries, purchases, event arrangements, program applications, and related business interactions. Employment onboarding and employee records may also be covered by a separate employee privacy notice, which will explain any additional employment-specific practices.

This policy is a notice of our information practices, not blanket consent to optional marketing, publicity, or data sharing. Third-party payment, social-media, or other services may process information under their own privacy policies when you interact with them directly.

Information we collect

We collect information relevant to the interaction or service requested. Depending on that interaction, the categories may include:

  • Contact information: Name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and communication preferences.
  • Customer and transaction information: Order details, receipts, payment status, event details, and records needed to resolve customer concerns.
  • Communications: Information you provide in questions, complaints, feedback, or other correspondence.
  • Program application information: Applicant name, age or date of birth when needed to determine eligibility, contact details, availability, interests, and information reasonably necessary to assess participation.
  • Parent, guardian, and emergency-contact information: Names, contact details, relationship to the participant, necessary permissions, and emergency arrangements.
  • Participation records: Attendance, training activities, progress, evaluations, incident records, and program communications.
  • Limited safety or accommodation information: Information voluntarily supplied or reasonably necessary to address an allergy, emergency, disability-related accommodation, or other specific safety need.
  • Employment information, when applicable: Work-permit records, employment eligibility, time worked, payroll and tax details, and other legally required employment records, collected through appropriate onboarding processes.
  • Technical information: Device or browser information, IP address, website activity, and cookie-related information collected by the website or its providers, as described below.
  • Media, with separate permission: Identifiable photos, video, audio, or testimonials approved through an applicable release.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, identity documents, banking details, or detailed medical records through a general contact form, social-media message, or ordinary email. If sensitive information is necessary for employment or a specific program requirement, we will identify an appropriate collection method.

Where information comes from

We receive information directly from customers, applicants, participants, parents or guardians, and emergency contacts. We may also receive limited information from payment or booking providers, referring organizations, schools, workforce-development partners, or program administrators when authorized or otherwise permitted by law.

Our website and its providers may collect technical information automatically. We do not seek unrelated school, medical, or other confidential records simply because someone applies to a program.

How we use information

We use personal information for the following purposes, where applicable:

  • Customer service: Process orders and payments, coordinate events, respond to inquiries, and resolve concerns.
  • Program administration: Assess eligibility, coordinate enrollment and scheduling, provide training and mentoring, document participation, and communicate with participants and families.
  • Safety and accessibility: Maintain emergency contacts, respond to incidents, address relevant accommodation requests, and support safe food handling and participation.
  • Employment administration: Meet employment, payroll, tax, work-permit, timekeeping, and recordkeeping obligations for individuals who are employees.
  • Business operations: Maintain records, prevent fraud, protect systems, and improve our services.
  • Program evaluation: Assess outcomes and prepare reports, using aggregate or appropriately de-identified information where practical.
  • Optional communications: Send marketing communications only through applicable permission and opt-out processes.
  • Approved publicity: Use media or testimonials within the scope of a separate release. Legal responsibilities: Comply with legal obligations and protect legal rights.

We do not use youth-program information to build commercial advertising audiences or condition participation on agreement to promotional messages. We do not use sensitive application, safety, or employment information for unrelated advertising.

How we disclose information

We disclose personal information only as appropriate for the purposes described in this policy and subject to applicable restrictions:

  • Service providers: Providers supporting payments, hosting, communications, scheduling, secure record storage, or payroll receive information needed for their services.
  • Authorized staff and mentors: Personnel receive access appropriate to their assigned responsibilities. Sensitive information is limited to those who need it.
  • Parents and guardians: We communicate participation and safety information where authorized or required. Parent or guardian access is not automatic for an adult participant and may be limited for certain records by applicable law.
  • Schools, referral partners, and funders: We provide aggregate reports where practical. Identifiable participant information is disclosed only for a defined program purpose with appropriate authorization or another lawful basis.
  • Emergency responders and relevant authorities: We disclose necessary information to address an emergency, fulfill a reporting obligation, or respond to valid legal requirements.
  • Professional advisers: Legal, accounting, insurance, or similar advisers may receive information necessary for their work, subject to appropriate confidentiality.
  • Business changes: If a restructuring or transfer of business records is contemplated, any disclosure must be necessary, protected appropriately, and consistent with applicable law. Youth information is not a separate commercial asset to be marketed.

We do not publicly identify a participant’s financial circumstances, medical information, school records, home address, or precise schedule for promotional purposes. Public use of a youth participant’s identity or media requires the separate permission described below.

Sale and advertising disclosure: Our proposed practice is not to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Youth information and children under 13

We handle youth information with particular care and collect only what is reasonably necessary for eligibility, participation, safety, and applicable legal responsibilities. Optional publicity and commercial marketing are separate from program participation.

Our general website and online application process are intended for adults and eligible youth age 13 or older, not for children under 13 to submit their own personal information.

If a parent or guardian wants to ask about activities for a child under 13, they should contact us directly rather than have the child complete an online form. A parent’s inquiry does not automatically authorize direct collection of information from the child.

If we learn that we have collected personal information online directly from a child under 13 without legally required authorization, we will restrict use and take appropriate steps to delete it, subject to applicable legal requirements. We will not knowingly begin an online collection process covered by children’s privacy requirements without first establishing the required notices, verifiable parental-consent procedures, access and deletion rights, security protections, and retention rules.

A general enrollment signature or photo release is not a substitute for any legally required online parental-consent process. Parents or guardians who believe information was collected improperly should contact the privacy contact above.

Photos, videos, and participant stories

We obtain separate permission before using identifiable youth photographs, recordings, or testimonials in promotional materials. For minors, we obtain parent or guardian permission where required and explain the intended use to the participant.

A media release should identify the allowed uses and how permission for future use can be withdrawn. Declining an optional release does not by itself affect program eligibility or employment.

If permission is withdrawn, we will stop new uses covered by the withdrawal and make reasonable efforts to remove material from channels we control. We may be unable to retrieve already distributed printed materials or copies independently reposted by others, and we will explain those limitations in the release.

Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for site functionality, traffic measurement, or other specifically disclosed purposes. The presence of a cookie notice does not, by itself, describe every tool used on the site.

Website Host and Tools

Our website is hosted through GoDaddy Websites + Marketing. GoDaddy may use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, security, performance, and analytics.

We may also use third-party services to process contact inquiries, event bookings, or payments, depending on the features enabled on our website.

Available Privacy Controls

Visitors can manage or disable cookies through their browser settings. Where cookie consent or preference controls are available on our website, visitors may use those controls to manage their choices.

Additional privacy options may be available through the third-party services used on our website.

You may also adjust browser settings to block or remove cookies, although some features may stop working. We will obtain consent for nonessential tracking where required and provide applicable opt-out choices.

Email and text communications

We may send communications necessary to respond to an inquiry, complete a transaction, administer a program, or meet an employment obligation. Optional commercial email and text messages are managed separately.

Where marketing email is offered, you may unsubscribe using the instructions provided. Where marketing texts are offered, enrollment requires the applicable separate consent, and messages will explain how to opt out, including replying STOP where supported. Marketing consent is not a condition of purchasing, program participation, or employment.

Communication Providers and Practices

Slushy Box ATL communicates with visitors, customers, and potential partners primarily through email and telephone.

When you contact us through our website or by email, we may use the information you provide to respond to inquiries, discuss partnerships, coordinate events, and provide information about our services.

Our primary contact email is staff@slushyboxatl.com.

We do not currently offer SMS marketing subscriptions through our website. We do not send promotional emails unless you have opted in or such communications are otherwise permitted by applicable law.

Retention

We retain information for the period reasonably necessary for the specific purpose for which it was collected, including applicable employment, tax, safety, contractual, and legal recordkeeping requirements. We do not retain youth information indefinitely merely because it may be useful later.

We will use a documented retention schedule covering unsuccessful applications, active and completed participation records, emergency and incident information, employment records, and media permissions. When retention is no longer necessary, information will be securely

deleted or appropriately de-identified, subject to lawful preservation requirements and backup-management procedures.

Data Retention

Slushy Box ATL retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including responding to inquiries, providing services, maintaining business records, resolving disputes, and complying with applicable legal obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, and applicable legal requirements. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including restricted access to sensitive participant and employment records. Providers handling sensitive information must be selected and managed with appropriate privacy and security considerations.

No system or method of transmission is completely secure. If a security incident occurs, we will assess and respond to it and provide notifications when required by applicable law.

Your choices and requests

You may contact us to ask what information we hold about you, request correction, request deletion where appropriate, or ask questions about our practices. Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights, including access, a copy of information, restriction, opt-out, or appeal rights.

We will evaluate requests under the laws that apply and may need to verify identity or legal authority before disclosing or changing records. We will seek only information reasonably necessary for that verification.

Parents or guardians may make requests for a minor where they have the applicable legal authority. We will consider the participant’s age, the nature of the record, and applicable confidentiality rules before providing access.

Deletion may be limited by required employment or tax retention, safety reporting, legal claims, or other lawful preservation obligations. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain the reason and any applicable review or appeal process. We will not unlawfully discriminate or retaliate against someone for exercising a privacy right.

To submit a request, use the privacy email or mailing address above and state the request and the relevant relationship to Slushy Box ATL. Do not include sensitive identity documents unless we request them through an appropriate channel.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and display a revised effective date. For material changes affecting existing participant information, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent when required.

We will not treat continued website browsing as permission for a new use requiring consent. For privacy questions or concerns, contact Slushy Box ATL using the details at the top of this page.
